'His Secret, Her Story' - Australian women tell their stories

In recent years there have been increasing accounts in the media as well as real life stories of married men being attracted to men or coming out as gay or bisexual. However the experiences of the women in the relationships with these men are rarely described.

Compiled by the Women Partners of Bisexual Men Service ‘His Secret, Her Story' is the first comprehensive Australian publication telling the stories of Australian women dealing with their male partner's same sex attraction.

The Good Weekend's national media in August 2008 brought a deluge of enquiries from new women. The article, 'Fairytale Marriage', published in The Sydney Morning Herald and Melbourne Age's weekend magazine also resulted in an unprecedented doubling of website traffic. Thank you to all the women who agreed to meet with journalist Greg Bearup. By sharing your experiences many women have been able to contact us and tap into support and information.

Contact Us if you've not seen the article, and we'll send it to you.

On 6.2.10, The Sydney Morning Herald, Melbourne Age and Brisbane Times published 'The Secret Lives of Us'. While a double life doesn't mirror every woman's experience of her male partner's homosexuality, the story may be of interest to some women who do find their situation parallels a double, or compartmentalised, situation.
