Leichhardt Women’s Community Health Centre provides all options information and counselling to women experiencing unplanned pregnancy. We provide confidential decision-making counselling and referral to help women make decisions on their options – parenting, abortion and adoption.

We provide referrals to termination clinics and will also provide support and counselling after abortion.

Our pregnancy counselling is:

• Confidential and private
• Provided by our women’s health nurse, professional counsellors and general practitioners

Our beliefs...

We support women’s access to all reproductive choices.  We believe in women's rights to have access to affordable contraception, sex education, paid maternity leave, IVF and to decide whether to proceed with pregnancy and choose adoption, become a parent or terminate a pregnancy.

Most of all we believe in the right women have to accurate information about their reproductive health, non-judgment from health workers and in their ability to make their own decisions.

We respect women and the myriad of circumstances in women's lives.

Because of our day to day work with women experiencing both wanted and unwanted pregnancies, we're aware of the significant gap in NSW caused by there being no government funded State-wide all options pregnancy support and advice service. Such a service would provide a greatly needed role linking each woman wanting information with the appropriate services in her area for her particular circumstances. Women on low incomes in particular are suffering because of the lack of this type of effective, non-judgemental service.

We continue to advocate to Government to fund an all-options pregnancy support service to fill this gap and to provide the necessary information and assistance for women and children in NSW.
