Nurse clinics and talks

Our women’s health nurse sees women by appointment in clinics and gives talks to community groups.

 The nurse sees women for:

  • Pap smears
  • Breast checks
  • Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • Pregnancy tests
  • Contraception
  • Fertility
  • Post natal checks
  • Menopause
  • All-options pregnancy counselling
  • Abortion referrals
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Quit smoking
  • Weight issues, diabetes, nutrition
  • Cardio vascular health (heart health)
  • Domestic violence 

Who can have an appointment?
Any local woman can make an appointment to see the women’s health nurse. 

Cost
Appointments are free of charge, but a donation of $10 or $5 per visit helps the centre.

Talks to community groups
The nurse can also come to your community group to give talks on health issues. Topics for talks include: sexual and reproductive health, the latest on contraception options, safe sex and sexually transmitted infections, healthy hearts/cardiovascular health, preventing diabetes, and healthy relationships to name a few.
